Frequently asked questions

How do I remove subtitle timestamps and keep only the text?

Choose or paste a valid SRT and extract text. Only structural numbers, timestamp lines and recognised formatting tags are removed.

Is SRT to text the same as SRT to TXT?

Here they mean the same thing: extract plain text to copy or download as a .txt file.

Can I keep cue paragraphs or merge them into continuous text?

Yes. Keep cue paragraphs by default or merge them. Continuous CJK text avoids forced spaces; English words retain separators.

Will numbers or repeated dialogue in the text be removed?

No. Dialogue numbers and repeated lines are retained. There is no deduplication, automatic punctuation or rewriting.

Can I extract dialogue if I only have a video and no SRT file?

No. An existing SRT is required. This tool does not transcribe video or audio, and does not use AI.

Can the TXT file restore the original subtitle timing?

No. TXT does not contain the original timing. Keep your source SRT.
